Home Maintenance & Premises
Keeping Your Home Safe, Functional and Livable
Maintaining your home can become increasingly difficult due to age, illness, disability, mental health or injury. A well-kept, hazard-free environment is vital for safety, comfort, and the ability to continue living independently. That’s where our home maintenance services come in.
We may be able to provide essential home maintenance and/or yard care services. These services are designed to support your ability to live safely and confidently in your own home by ensuring your space remains functional, accessible, and free from common hazards. Whether it’s a flickering light, an overgrown path, or small fixes around the home, our goal is simple: to help you stay safe, independent, and in control of your living environment.
This service does not include home modification services such as major repairs, renovations, licensed trade work (e.g., electrical, plumbing, construction), cosmetic improvements, non-safety-related landscaping or services unrelated to daily function, independence, or safety.
There are government rules and guidelines that service providers must follow when providing subsidised services to clients, including Work Health & Safety considerations for direct-care workers. Because of these legal considerations, some services are generally not available from local registered providers who use their own staff to provide the service due to individual business policy, legislation and government guidelines.
As an independent business, Flair For Care can offer additional tasks and services when providing this core service. We can offer this because we have designed our business to provide this service in a different way through supports like our Help Around The Home Initiative (HATHI), Bulk Rubbish Removal or our Hoarding Services.

Flair For Care Additions
¹Our Help Around The Home Initiative (HATHI) has been developed to provide broad-range assistance around the home to our clients where a client needs help with a wide range of activities instead of receiving assistance with just one type of support during a service (housekeeping for example). Due to the popularity of the initiative, we have now extended the initiative to include all our clients and consumers where eligible. Our HATHI is a distinct service initiative from home maintenance, but some tasks can overlap, depending on the tasks required.
Throughout our experiences in the aged care and disability services industry, we found that there is a rather large discrepancy between tasks workers can do and tasks clients need doing, so we developed our HATHI initiative to cover this and provide meaningful task-orientated assistance to our clients. We developed the initiative to be included with or to exist alongside our Domestic Assistance or Social Support service or as a once-off service (e.g spring cleaning, decluttering/organising). The client or consumer can choose (if they are able to) to permanently extend their hourly services at every service, at some services or temporarily on a yearly/bi-yearly/once-off basis. Clients can also create a plan as to when and how these services will occur – eg, a client may not need “housekeeping” every week, so they could choose to have weekly services, but one week could be housekeeping and the other week a HATHI service, invoiced to domestic assistance or social support.
Tasks can include things like cleaning and organising internal high or hard to reach areas, moving bulky items like furniture, assistance with spring cleaning, cleaning of a certain area in soft hoarding premises, rubbish/recyclables removal, decluttering sheds or other storage areas, sorting clothes and other items for giving to a charity, washing pets and their bedding/food bowls at home, tidying the yard ready for mowing, cleaning out fridges and/or freezers, washing bulky items either in the washing machine or manually, cleaning out kitchen cupboards, washing walls, mould removal (if able to) and fixing small non-structural maintenance issues.
All HATHI services are completely customised to our client’s needs and preferences where we are able to do so.
